February 26, 2015, Thursday

Scott pretending to be a wildland firefighter, with fire hat and chainsaw.
(Firehat is backwards!)
Turnouts might help!  lol

Scott practices his bow sometimes.  He loves shooting it.

After nocking his own arrow he takes aim at the target.

The half moon in the mid-day sky.

We rode bicycles to a smaller 'warm' spring about 4 miles from us.  This is a channel where
they measure water flow.

Steven and Scott jumped to the other side so I could take a picture
of the channel.  They call it a 'weir'.

This is looking up from by the channel toward where we parked our bicycles.

We started following some burro tracks away from the spring.

This is a Beavertail Cactus with several flower buds about to open.
The flowers are a brilliant pink when they open.

We hiked for a couple hours, almost to Valley of Fire.
Scott hid behind me when Steven went to take a picture, so I
lifted him out into sight.

Steven and Odie follow the trail up out of a wash.

After a while Scott got back to riding in one of his favorite places.

Scott and Steven pose along the trail. You can see the lake in the distance.

Above the spring, looking east toward the lake.

On the ride home I took a picture of Scott kicking back relaxing.

Scott fixed up a "cave" under the kitchen table.

Cooking on the grill.  Chicken breasts in the middle.  Sweet potatoes roasting in the foil.
Sweet red pepper slices around the edge.

Just a random picture of the hills and bluffs across the lake.

More of the same.  I'm wondering if all that white stuff in the middle is a mine?
This is on telephoto.

Eating dinner outside.

February 23, 24, & 25,2015, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

It snowed a bit during the night.
Light dusting on the mountains north of us.

Looking south toward Echo Bay.  No snow there.

A telephoto view of the snow to the north.

Scott just running off some energy around the campsite.

We took his bicycle to the park so he could ride on a hard, smooth surface.

He usually doesn't like the baby swings so I was surprised when he asked to be put in one.

He had fun!

He said he was flying!

Then he wanted to ride on my swing with me.

Flowers in the grocery store parking lot.

I like how they reflect on our car hood.
Next time I won't pull so far forward in the parking spot and crowd the flowers.

The lake as viewed from Rusty's yard by his camper, on telephoto.

Scott running with Rusty's dog, Molly.

I can almost feel Molly tensed with excitement while Scott picks up the ball so he can
throw it for her to chase.

Molly is very patient with Scott's efforts!
Odie showed up on the scene to watch.

I love Molly's angle here as she gets ready to run.

You can see by Scott's pose that he put a lot into that throw!

Scott set his robot out by a bush to guard the campsite.

Molly is already taking off in anticipation of batman Scott's throw.

Sunset, looking south.

Sunset looking east.

Pork chops on the fire.

February 22, 2015 Sunday

Making pancakes for Scott on the woodstove.

After one side is cooked I pull the cutter/shaper off, then flip them.

Scott made a 'robot' with a box, a couple of water bottles, a helmet, and a few other things!

February 21, 2015 Saturday

Scott's first model, a snap-together Abrams Tank

While I broke the model pieces off to get ready for assembly, Scott rode his bike
around the yard.

The bumpy ground kept giving him trouble.

I showed Scott where to snap pieces together and he
did most of this.  He was SO delighted!

Scott and his tank.

Part of the reason for helping Scott with his tank was to keep him out of the storage compartment
while Steven was wiring in the other inverter.  Scott had been trying to climb in there with Steven.

My two tomato plants.
The plant on the right has a blossom about to open.

Onions on the left, peas on the right.

Scott was still playing on his bicycle.

High-centered and back wheel spinning again.

Scott colored this, by himself, in his Batman coloring book.  I think that's the Riddler.
He is careful about staying in the lines.

The moon.  Partway between crescent and half-full.

The moon (upper left), the sunset, and the hills to our west.
