February 17, 2015, Tuesday

Finally we had a breezy day.  Usually it's calm, or the wind is ripping everything off the face of the earth.  But now and then we get a wind just right for flying a kite.
Steven helps Scott get his kite in the air.

And it's up!  Scott jumped in the air and tried to touch it.

He was chortling with excitement!

Scott's turn to hold the string.

He did pretty good.  Something about the drafts kept the kite from
going real high.

He flew that kite for about an hour, running back and forth in the yard.

While Grandma and Grandpa sprawled in the lounge chairs and watched!

The Air Force boys were playing on the lake this afternoon.  One of the things they do is make pilot trainees hover over the water when it's choppy.

We made dinner in the solar cooker again today.  This time it was goulash.

Macaroni (uncooked), tomato sauce, corn, black beans, diced tomatoes,
garlic powder, Italian seasonings, salt, and pepper.  And a bit of water.
Cover and let cook for 3 to 5 hours, depending on the sun's angle.

There it is, cooking.
I forgot to take a picture when we ate it, but it was all perfectly done, and the flavor
was rich, as though it was in a slow cooker all day.  Which it sort of was!

    1. Yeah, I'm trying to slow it down some though. The sun is pretty intense here and we're outside so much.
