We bought a new 4' by 8' utility trailer from Harbor Freight. Steven built the sides for it so we could load things on it to travel south.
These are tongue-in-groove boards. He made the sides 30" tall. Deep enough to store a lot of stuff, but easy enough to reach over.
Another view. I think they look really nice. Nicer than plywood!
I started loading the car Sunday evening Nov. 23. When I put the dog carrier in, Odie got all excited. When I spread her blanket in it, she nosed under my arm and jumped in, and she didn't want to get out. There's no way she was going to get left behind! :)
Scott was building a 'nest' out of fleece blankets and coats in the other half of the back of the car! I loaded the backseat and left the 'trunk' area until morning.
Monday morning Steven finished the sides of the trailer and I loaded it. That's the pieces of a lawn swing on top of the boxes. Down in there is a new stove/oven for the motorhome, a red wagon for Scott (new in it's box), boxes of home-canned food, a chain saw, a 50-lb bag of dog food, and a bunch of other odds and ends.
A view from the other side, before we tarped it.
